Background

Silver Ribbon (Singapore) launched S.A.G.E. Mental Health Training Programme for Grandparents with the support of Mr Seah Kian Peng, Speaker of Parliament/Member of Parliament for Marine Parade GRC, on 4 Feb 2024 during its 18th anniversary as
  • we observed that many children are being placed under the care of grandparents because most parents are busy with their work, and
  • we understand from
    • grandparents that they feel helpless and are keen to do more to support their grandchildren
    • youths that they are feeling loneliness and stressed out


S.A.G.E. stands for

S = Silver Ribbon (Singapore)
A = Advocating for
G = Grandparents (promoting)
E = Emotional Resilience Among their grandchildren

Objectives

  • To engage grandparents in mental health promotion
